  • Panel Of Indiana Legislators Recommends Tobacco 21 Rule (11/05/2019)

    The AP (11/3) reported a panel of Indiana lawmakers “is recommending that Indiana’s legal age for buying cigarettes be raised from 18 to 21.” The state “Legislature’s public health study committee approved the recommendation this past week after hearing testimony recently on the change.” The “age change would cover both traditional and electronic cigarettes.”

  • Indiana Has Largest Amount Of Small Business Loans (10/15/2019)

    Inside INdiana Business (10/10, Parker) reported, “The Indiana statewide CDC approved more than $34 million in loans for small business owners in fiscal year 2019, which is the largest of any of the state’s certified lenders of SBA 504 funds.” The article added the CDC works with the SBA to offer 504 financing to small business owners. This year, the “loan approvals went to 40 different borrowers. The organization says the loans either saved or helped create 680 jobs.”
