1st Source Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Kevin Murphy, SVP, to the position of Group Head of Information Technology, Marketing and Digital Strategy. He will oversee Electronic Banking, the Virtual Bank, Information Technology, the Bank’s customer sales management and service platform: “InSight,” the internal loan processing digitalization effort, and the Marketing Department. He joined the 1st Source team in 2006, and in the time since has lead IT, Consumer and Electronic Banking, worked in Treasury Services and managed the Central Region banking centers, all which prepared him well for this new assignment. Client facing digital services for individuals and businesses that are simple, secure and easy to use, and internal digital processes leading to more efficiency and better data sharing and analysis are critical to the future success of the Bank.
Murphy is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Executive MBA program, Wittenberg University and DeVry University, with degrees in Political Science and Information Technology. In 2013, the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce recognized Murphy as a recipient of its Michiana Forty under 40 award. He is active with the Center for History where he served as President and is a Board Member. He also volunteers with the United Way and the Boys and Girls Club and is a graduate of the Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka program.
This promotion is part of a strategic effort to provide continued strong leadership to 1st Source and to prepare for smooth transitions of responsibility and authority among the larger 1st Source team in the future. The purpose of these is to enhance our position as a Community Bank with a strong client focus and local leadership who strongly live our values and who have the authority and responsibility to serve clients well and grow the Bank.
